EDET 636 Impact of Tech Week 13 Blog

Click on the following link to view the first draft of my research paper. Thank you for the input and ideas you have to make it better. Ask questions if some of it does not make sense.

Thank you!

  1. You did an excellent job of doing this research considering this is your first attempt at it. Your results are pretty much what one might predict. As the concepts build on previous work, you would expect assessment to drop a bit with RTI and more difficult work. Especially if the delivery is different than they are used to. Most of them seem to be close to the same, even though IXL is more intense, with more questions.
I would try it again, if I had the ability to.
    Good work.

  2. It was great to read your results. It's slightly disappointing when results don't seem quite conclusive. I was hoping to see a significant difference in achievement. It really sounds like IXL is very similar to MathXL for School (from your students comments) It would be great to continue with this RTI strategy. Sounds like you are. It's funny that some students prefer the old interaction without technology! I suppose that's expected (darn those social personality types!) I don't know how engaged students are in the village in terms of social media, but here in Ketchikan it's ridiculous! And it's all on smartphones. You would think they would transfer some of that enthusiasm to educational technology. Oh well. It takes time. Great job!
